Tahlequah Middle School
The students of Tahlequah Middle School are incredibly busy this spring. The Oklahoma Core Curriculum exams began on April 13th with the eighth graders taking the science test and will conclude on May 7th with the Algebra I End of Instruction Exams. There will be one subject area testing each day during this time. The school is actively reminding students that they need to get plenty of rest and eat breakfast especially during testing.
The middle school is preparing to welcome the district’s 5th graders with a school tour on May 11th. Each elementary school will bring their fifth graders to visit the middle school. The visit will include an introduction of teachers, an overview of school expectations, and a welcome from Mrs. Smith, the middle school principal. Parents will be invited to tour the middle school and attend a brief question/answer session that evening in the middle school cafeteria.
The students involved in the performing arts classes are actively preparing for their spring performances. The students involved in band will perform on May 7th at 6:00 in the Performing Arts Center (PAC). Students in choir will present their spring concert on May 14th at 7:00 in the Performing Arts Center. The annual talent show will occur in the PAC at 1:10 on May 11th.
Our spring athletes are battling the weather this season. Many of the middle school’s games and matches have needed to be rescheduled or cancelled due rain. Please continue to follow the school on Facebook for these notifications.
