Motivating students to be better citizens
Students with an outlook of a military future or simply wanting a structured course found what they were looking for in JROTC.
Many JROTC students were drawn to the program due to family tradition.
“My dad was in the US Military, and I always wanted to learn and see what it would be like to be in the military so that I can better my future and become a better citizen,” Meredith Cott, 11, said.
JROTC prepared students for life beyond high school.
“JROTC is important to me because it gives me and my fellow cadets tools and skills that will help improve my life beyond high school,” Greg Shelton, 11, said.
JROTC also promoted good values in the activities that took place.
“JROTC goes well beyond the classroom by providing students many opportunities to participate in competitions and community service events,” LTC Michael Hunt said.
Exemplary leadership skills were also provided in JROTC.
