Team makes playoff appearance
With a home game win, Football demolished the Stilwell Indians with a score of 71 to 21.
“It was a well-needed win to start the new Football season and was a great confidence boost for the whole team,” Kane Teague, 11, said.
The student section stood on their feet the entire game to keep the rest of the crowd and the football team amped.
“It’s almost unreal. It’s just awesome to have such a big fan group backing us, and we don’t want to disappoint them,” Joseph Tucker, 12, said.
Whether soaked from rain, frozen from the cold or drenched in sweat from the heat, the team has many supporters who come to each and every game.
During the season the team won the Homecoming game against Pryor. Pryor was ranked fifth in Class 5A.
“It was one of the best experiences of my life. The Homecoming win was great for the town, school and team,” Cole Wilkie, 12, said.
“It’s satisfying to see the boys do so good, because I’ve seen all the hard work they’ve put in being the best they can be and the commitment they’ve made the Football program. It’s exciting because it’s created an exciting atmosphere around the school and community,” Brad Gilbert, coach, said.
