Feel Good, Give Blood
Community donates to save lives
Students and the community came together to donate blood to those who needed it the most. 251 people walked in to the Performing Arts Center with donating blood on their minds.
With 103 donors at the first drive and 148 at the second, there were a total of 283 pints donated to the Oklahoma Blood Institute.
“Giving blood was actually really scary because I’m terrified of needles, but afterwards it felt great because I know I’m going to be saving someone’s life who really needs it. I overcame my fear so someone else can have another chance at life,” said Shaydee Ramirez, 12.
Many students pulled through and volunteered to help the nurses and the donors.
“Volunteering at the Blood Drive is just really good knowing that you’re helping the community in the state in which we live,” said Daniel Watkins, 12.
