The district provided our new certified teachers with training in TPS Board Policy and district expectations, effective teaching strategies using Ruby K. Payne, and technology. We also kicked off our new Resident Teacher Mentor Program this past week for beginning year teachers new to the profession. We have fifteen teachers that qualify for this program and each of them has partnered with a career teacher. This program is designed to support and maintain new teachers through a strategic plan focused on improving teaching and learning in the classroom. The district will continue to provide quality instruction using effective strategies to help us meet our district academic focus which is literacy. Our goal is to raise academic achievement in all content areas by improving literacy and we will utilize all of our staff to help us reach this goal.
