Greenwood Library Learning Commons
STREAM: Locating the Einstein in Every Child!
The Greenwood Elementary Library is a “stakeholder learning commons” with student-centered collaborative areas, which provides a safe and nurturing environment. It is a place where students can successfully seek information and ideas for their educational, informational, and recreational needs. The library seeks to promote an appreciation of literature, enabling students to interpret meaning from various forms of literature, as they become lifelong readers and learners. The library seeks to ensure that our students acquire the necessary informational literacy skills they will need to become productive learners, with skills and knowledge necessary to lead successful meaningful lives in the 21st century. In addition our library provides students with a hands-on inquiry STREAM (Science, Technology, Reading/Research, Engineering, Arts, & Mathematics) approach to learning. This mission recognizes the essential role of the school library program in the educational process as students reach their full potential.
