BPA State Conference
“Spread Your Wings” was the theme of the Oklahoma State Conference for Business Professionals of America (BPA) that was recently held in Tulsa.
Members from Tahlequah High School participating in the event were Brandon Savage, Tate Schneider, Gabrielle Wheeler, Maria Diaz Mojica, Cameron Calhoon, Alex Cummins.
Students participated business related online testing and attended leadership workshops. Tate Schneider placed in the Top 20 in Business Meeting Management and Management, Marketing, and Human Relations testing. Gabrielle Wheeler and Maria Diaz Mojica represented THS as voting delegates. Tate Schneider also, earned the Statesman level for Torch Awards (350 service points for the year). The Torch Awards Program is a motivational program that recognizes students for their involvement and service to the community.
Brandon Savage received the highest honor and prize of hard work, dedication, and diligence. He was elected by his peers to serve on the 2017-2018 State Executive Council. An honor awarded to only six students in the state. Brandon will represent Oklahoma and Tahlequah High School in Florida later this year at the National Leadership Conference.
BPA is a student organization for secondary and post-secondary students enrolled in the Business and Information Technology Education curriculum of the Oklahoma CareerTech Program.
