At Sequoyah Pre-K, we are excited to announce that for the fourth year in a row we have been named a Great Expectations Model School. This is a great honor and everyone has been working really hard to achieve this award.
We have completed our Art Show at Sequoyah. We had two winners chosen from each class to compete in the Cherokee County Art Show. The Cherokee County Art Show displays work from all schools in Cherokee County. We are extremely proud of one of our students from Sequoyah, Alexandria Ibarra, who placed as an Honorable Mention in the Pre-K and Kindergarten age group.
Our students at Sequoyah had an amazing time on our field trip to the Oklahoma Aquarium. Not only was the first bus ride for most of these students exciting, but they also got to see and learn about all different types of sea life that we don’t get to see every day. This trip was the conclusion to an ocean unit that students have been learning about in class.
As you have probably noticed, we are getting a big section of the roof repaired. We are very excited about this improvement to our building.
We have just finished our Pre-K Track Meet. All students were able to participate in a variety of events including running races, potato sack races, tug of war, and more. Everyone did a fantastic job in all events and had a great time.
Enrollment for Pre-K for next year has started. We saw several families of children who will be attending Sequoyah next year during our Pre-K Round Up. There are still spaces available for next year. You can pick up an enrollment packet at Sequoyah or at the Board of Education.
Coming up on May 12, we will have our Pre-K Promotion Celebration. This is a ceremony where each student is celebrated as they are promoted to Kindergarten. We are so proud of how much these students have grown this year and can’t wait to see the great things they will do in the future!
