Tahlequah High School

It has been an eventful year at Tahlequah High School. Many, many successes with many more to come.

Tahlequah High School will have a new Principal beginning this summer.  Mr. Jeff Thorne, current Principal will be retiring at the end of June.  He and his wife plan to move to the Oklahoma City area and spend more time with their grandchildren.    Mr. Thorne said, “Leaving THS is a bittersweet experience since I have loved being its Principal.”

The new Principal will be Mr. Cory Slagle and he will meet with the staff on Friday, May 15th.  He was formerly the high school Principal at Collinsville for five years.  He is coming to us from a six year administrative assignment in Texas.  His daughter was a math intern here at THS three years ago and  he is familiar with the school.

Our district Special Olympics athletes will be leaving for Stillwater on Wednesday, May 13th.  The whole school will send them off that morning with the help of the Tahlequah Orange Express Band.

At the THS academic awards assembly on Thursday, May 7th, we presented over 107 individual scholarships, 4 Gates Millennium Scholarships, 3 Academic All-State Scholarships, 2 National Merit Scholarship Finalists for a total of over $4.9 million in scholarship money for our Seniors.

Thanks again to the Tahlequah community for its amazing support of Tahlequah High School.  Without this support, we wouldn’t have the faculty and resources to serve your children.
