Admissions

A child must be four (4) years of age on or before September 1 to attend the four-year-old program. A child must be five (5) years of age on or before September 1 to attend Kindergarten. A child must be six (6) years of age on or before September 1 to attend first grade. New students are required to bring birth certificates, immunization records, and proof of residency (a current gas or electric bill and a statement from the County Assessor's Office) at time of enrollment.

You can find more information on how to enroll your child on our Enrollment page.

Attendance

The Tahlequah Public School District believes there is a positive correlation between attendance and academic performance. A district attendance regulation defines guidelines for excused and unexcused absences and their documentation and student responsibilities for make-up work.

Child Nutrition

Breakfast and lunch are served at all elementary and secondary schools. Free and reduced price meals are provided for children whose family income meets federal guidelines (all families are encouraged to fill out the confidential form). More information can be found on our Child Nutrition page.

Transportation

Over 2,500 students are transported daily by district school buses. Handicapped children use buses which are specially equipped with lifts and other necessary equipment. The Transportation Department's telephone number is 458-4168. Visit the Transportation department page for information on specific bus routes as well as how to contact the department.
