Greenwood Elementary Embraces Learning and Fitness with Exciting Upcoming Events

We are thrilled to announce a dynamic lineup of events designed to engage students, parents, and the community in enriching educational and health-oriented activities. From STREAM night collaborations to vibrant music programs, a community-wide fitness event and track meets, Greenwood is setting the stage for an inspiring and interactive learning experience.

For our third-quarter parent involvement initiative, the THS Robotics Club lead our STREAM night. This is a fantastic opportunity for our students to dive into the worlds of Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics through hands-on activities. It's not just about the fun; it's a glimpse into the future, it’s about what awaits our students in their later academic pursuits, particularly when they reach high school.

We are eager to announce the return of our Fit Family Fun Night, scheduled for March 28. This event promises an even bigger and better celebration of health and fitness, featuring local businesses and a plethora of activities designed to encourage a healthy lifestyle among our families. We are committed to delivering an unforgettable experience for all attendees. If your business is focused on health and fitness and you're interested in setting up a booth, we encourage you to reach out to the Greenwood office for more information.

Music is in full swing, with students from kindergarten through fifth grade engaging in an array of musical endeavors. Earlier this semester, our talented fourth and fifth graders joined peers from across the region in the Circle the State with Song music festival. Currently, students grades three through five are honing their skills on instruments such as ukuleles, recorders, and drums, while kindergarten through second grade prepare for their upcoming music programs. Second grade's “Squirm” on February 20th, first grade's “Bunnies” on March 14th, and kindergarten’s “Pet Show” on April 9th. Each will take place in the Greenwood Cafeteria at 6 PM, showcasing the incredible talent and hard work of our students.

The culmination of our musical year will be the “Greenwood Stars” talent show, featuring our third through fifth graders on May 2nd. Time is yet to be announced, but the excitement is already building.

As Greenwood Elementary's event calendar continues to blossom with educational and community-oriented activities, the anticipation for warmer weather brings with it the thrill of track and field season. Our students are gearing up for an action-packed spring, with two major athletic events on the horizon that promise to showcase their sporting prowess and team spirit.

March 27th, our 5th grade students will take their marks at the much-anticipated 5th and 6th grade Arrowhead Relays track meet. This event is a fantastic opportunity for our athletes to demonstrate their skills in many track and field events and represent Greenwood with pride. May our 1st through 4th grade students will participate in Little Olympics. This event is tailored to our younger students, offering them a chance to engage in similar track and field events. It's a time of energetic preparation and friendly competition.

At Greenwood Elementary, we believe in the power of education, the importance of physical health, and the transformative impact of the arts. We look forward to welcoming you to our upcoming events and sharing the remarkable talents and achievements of our students. See you soon!
