The 2024–2025 school year was a landmark one for Tahlequah Athletics, marked by standout performances, inspiring individual achievements, and bold steps toward the future.

A Year of Champions
Tahlequah High School proudly honored seven All-State athletes this year, a reflection of the hard work, talent, and commitment shown by student-athletes and coaches alike. The All-State selections included:

·         Jacob Tiger – Cross Country

·         Amelia Miller – Softball

·         Jordan Bread – Girls Wrestling

·         Theron Ward – Soccer

·         Ethan Hill – Soccer

·         Reece Cowart – Girls Soccer

·         Danayah Gourd – Girls Soccer

These athletes represented Tahlequah with pride and brought statewide recognition to their programs.

One of the year’s biggest highlights came from the softball team, which made a thrilling run to the State Tournament. Their postseason performance was defined by heart, teamwork, and resilience — energizing the entire school and community.

Athletes Moving On
Tahlequah Athletics also celebrated a large class of seniors signing to continue their academic and athletic careers at the next level. College signees include:

·         Jacob Tiger – Cross Country

·         Jordan Bread – Wrestling

·         Amelia Miller – Softball

·         JJ Antwine – Footbal

·         Beckett Robinson – Football

·         Levi Kelly – Baseball

·         Kaden Tibbitts – Golf

These student-athletes serve as role models and reminders of what hard work can achieve.

Strategic Vision and Community Support
This year, the district launched a Long-Term Strategic Plan for Tahlequah Athletics, aimed at elevating all programs across the board. Created with input from coaches, administrators, and community stakeholders, the plan addresses facility upgrades, athlete development, and long-term competitive goals.

To help support this vision, the athletic department initiated a major fundraising campaign. Backed by enthusiastic support from alumni, local businesses, and community members, the campaign is raising funds for new equipment, improved facilities, and expanded athlete opportunities.

Honoring the Legacy
On February 15, Tahlequah hosted its 10th Annual Athletic Hall of Fame Banquet — a record-setting event with 61 tables sold, the highest in the event’s history. The evening honored individuals and teams who left a lasting mark on Tiger athletics. This year’s inductees were

·         Richard Davis

·         Mike Reavis

·         1996 Baseball Team

·         Wilson Fargo

·         Bart Frank

·         1971 Baseball Team

·         Danna Reese

The evening was filled with reflection, recognition, and Tiger pride.

Looking Ahead
As part of Tahlequah's ongoing commitment to accessibility and community engagement, the school will continue to live-stream athletic events on YouTube via the Green Country Sports Network Channel this fall — allowing families and fans to enjoy the action from home free of charge.

We are looking forward to the community investing in our students this September with a bond resolution that will fund major improvements for our students in athletics and every other area of education. Tahlequah’s athletic department will be relying heavily on the support of its community. Plans are underway to seek additional corporate sponsorships to help offset financial challenges and preserve the quality of athletic and educational programs.

A Final Word
As the school year winds down and summer begins, Tahlequah Athletics reflects on a year of accomplishment and momentum. The Tigers are poised for continued success, and the call is out to fans and families: Make plans to attend an event this fall and support the future of Tiger athletics.
