At Tahlequah Public Schools, we continue to evolve our technology infrastructure to support a modern, secure, and seamless learning environment. With the ever-increasing demands of digital education, our technology team is working behind the scenes to build the foundation for the next generation of innovation and connectivity across the district.
One of the most significant projects underway is the construction of a new centralized server room at our Technology Offices. Previously, our servers were housed at the board offices. This purpose-built room will soon house all the core district systems, including our servers, wireless controllers, network video recorders (NVRs), and firewall equipment. By relocating these systems into a secure, dedicated space, we are improving both the reliability and the security of our network operations.
In conjunction with this move, we are also transitioning our district’s internet service to enter directly into this new location. This change, along with a shift from district-owned fiber to leased Wide Area Network (WAN) services, will provide us with more flexibility and scalability in how we connect and support our campuses. These updates represent a major step forward in the modernization of our district-wide network architecture.
This summer and fall, our team is also preparing to support the relocation of our administration offices to a new facility—the historic Armory building. Outfitting this new space will involve the installation of essential technology infrastructure, including network drops, wireless access points, access control systems, and surveillance cameras. The project is part of our ongoing commitment to ensure that every site in our district is equipped with the tools needed to operate safely, efficiently, and effectively.
These infrastructure upgrades are more than just hardware moves—they represent our long-term commitment to building a resilient and future-ready technology environment for our students, staff, and community. Our team remains focused on delivering dependable systems and scalable solutions that support the mission of Tahlequah Public Schools.
The success of these initiatives wouldn’t be possible without the dedication and skill of our technology team. Curtis McCullough (Installation Technician), Jason Rini (Helpdesk Technician), Sam Mitchell, Kelton McCullough, Junior Jones (Student Tech Assistants), Chuck Pack, Candice Jefferson, and Jessica Morrison (District Technology Coaches), each play a vital role in keeping our systems running smoothly. Their hard work behind the scenes ensures that our district remains connected, secure, and prepared for the future.
As always, we appreciate the continued support from our district leadership and community. Together, we’re building the digital foundation for success—one switch, cable, and connection at a time.
