As I write this column, I do not know the outcome of today’s bond election. Either way, on this important day, I want to pause and express my deepest gratitude to our community. This process has been about more than buildings, classrooms, and facilities; it has been about people coming together to talk about what Tahlequah students need to thrive.

Thank you to the parents, grandparents and community members who attended meetings, asked thoughtful questions, and shared valuable feedback. Also, thank you to our teachers and staff members who have continually reminded us why these conversations matter—because every improvement ultimately serves our students.

Regardless of today’s outcome, we appreciate the opportunity to present our district’s needs openly and honestly to the community we serve. Your willingness to be part of this process reflects the strong commitment you have to the future of Tahlequah and to our students.

The plan being considered today will address critical needs for our students without increasing the tax rate for residents. The polls will continue to be open until 7 p.m. tonight, and we hope every voter takes the opportunity to let their voice be heard.

When we work together, we offer students a better school experience – one that includes our shared values of excellence, opportunity, and care for every child. On behalf of our board of education and our entire district team, thank you for your time, your trust, and your partnership.

It is always a great day to be a Tahlequah Tiger.
