Sequoyah Pre-K is Off to an Exciting Start!
The 2025-26 school year is in full swing at Sequoyah Pre-K, and we are thrilled to see our students learning, growing, and building lasting friendships every day! Our dedicated staff have been hard at work creating a nurturing, positive environment where every child feels seen, valued, and excited to come to school. Each morning, teachers and team members greet children at the doors and throughout the building with smiles, encouraging words, and a cheerful “good morning,” setting the tone for a day full of learning and fun. Adding to the excitement, the Northeastern State University Women’s Basketball and Baseball teams stop by weekly to give high-fives, bring energy, and put big smiles on our students’ faces.
Building Classroom Communities
August was a busy and rewarding month as teachers focused on laying the foundation for strong classroom communities. Students learned routines, practiced sharing and taking turns, and explored their classrooms through hands-on centers designed to spark curiosity and creativity. Outdoor activities also played a big role in helping children develop social skills, coordination, and a love for learning through play. Teachers emphasized social-emotional growth, helping students identify feelings, problem-solve, and work together as a team—skills that will carry them through their entire school journey.
Family Engagement in September
September brought many special moments as families joined us to celebrate and connect with our school community. During Popsicles on the Playground, children enjoyed frozen treats while playing games and making new friends, and Family Night at our Book Fair gave families the opportunity to explore books, share stories, and support our love of reading. These events help strengthen the partnership between home and school, and we are grateful for all the families who participated and helped make these moments memorable.
Fun Learning Experiences Ahead
Our students are looking forward to an exciting walking field trip to the fire station, where they will learn important fire safety tips and even get to explore a real fire truck. These hands-on experiences not only teach safety but also spark curiosity and wonder about the world around them.
Looking Forward to October
One of the highlights of our year is fast approaching! On October 31st, Sequoyah Pre-K will celebrate with our annual Halloween Parade, a beloved tradition where students dress in costumes, parade through the school, and enjoy festive activities with friends, families, and staff. It’s a day full of laughter, creativity, and school spirit—a perfect way to cap off a month of learning and fun.
Every day at Sequoyah Pre-K is filled with discovery, laughter, and growth. From building friendships and exploring new concepts to developing important life skills, our students are thriving in a safe, welcoming environment. Follow along on Facebook to see the joy, creativity, and accomplishments happening in our classrooms—or stop by to experience the magic firsthand.
