We are excited to share an engaging lineup of events created to involve students, families, and our community in meaningful educational and wellness-focused experiences. From collaborative STREAM Nights and lively music programs to a community fitness event and track meets, Greenwood is fostering an inspiring, interactive environment where learning and healthy living go hand in hand.
We are excited to share that our Fit Family Fun Night is returning on March 12th! This year’s event will be bigger and better than ever, bringing together local businesses and a wide variety of activities that promote healthy habits for the whole family. Our goal is to create a fun, engaging, and memorable experience for everyone who attends. If your business specializes in health and fitness and you’re interested in hosting a booth, please contact the Greenwood office for additional details.
Music season is in full swing, with kindergarten through fifth-grade students actively participating in a variety of musical experiences. Earlier this semester, our talented fourth and fifth graders represented Greenwood at the Circle the State with Song festival, joining students from across the region. Currently, third through fifth graders are building their instrumental skills on ukuleles, recorders, and drums, while our kindergarten through second-grade students are preparing for their upcoming performances. Second grade will present “Swamped” on March 10, first grade will host “A Night of Disney” on March 31, and kindergarten will perform “Pajama Party” on April 14. All programs will begin at 6:00 PM in the Greenwood Cafeteria and will highlight the dedication and talent of our students. We will wrap up the musical year with the much-anticipated “Greenwood Stars” talent show on May 7, featuring our third through fifth graders. The time will be announced soon, and anticipation is already growing for this exciting showcase.
As Greenwood Elementary’s calendar continues to flourish with engaging academic and community-focused events, the arrival of warmer weather signals the excitement of track and field season. Our students are preparing for a high-energy spring filled with upcoming athletic events that will highlight their skills, determination, and strong sense of teamwork.
On March 25, our fifth-grade students will step onto the track for the highly anticipated 5th and 6th Grade Arrowhead Relays. This exciting event provides a wonderful opportunity for our athletes to showcase their abilities across a variety of track and field events while proudly representing Greenwood. Fifth grade will also compete at the Keys track meet on March 30 and at the Maryetta track meet on April 2nd.
In May, our first through fourth grade students will take part in Little Olympics. Designed especially for our younger athletes, this event gives them the opportunity to participate in similar track and field activities in a fun and supportive environment. It’s a season filled with enthusiastic preparation, teamwork, and friendly competition.
At Greenwood Elementary, we value the power of learning, the importance of healthy lifestyles, and the meaningful influence of the arts. We are excited to welcome you to our upcoming events and celebrate the incredible talents and accomplishments of our students. We look forward to seeing you soon!
