The 2025-2026 school year at Tahlequah Middle School has been nothing short of amazing. We are incredibly proud of the hard work, unwavering support, and dedication our students, families, and staff have shown over the last several months. As we look forward to a wonderful end to the spring semester, it is hard to believe how quickly this year has flown by!
TMS is exceptionally proud to celebrate our 2026-2027 Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Laura Rogers! An all-around excellent educator, Mrs. Rogers teaches 6th Grade English Language Arts and brings immense passion and dedication to her classroom every day. Beyond her impactful instruction, she exemplifies outstanding leadership, both in inspiring her students to reach their full potential and through her vital role serving as a mentor to her fellow teachers as an ELA department chair. Please join TMS in congratulating Mrs. Rogers on this well-deserved honor. We are truly lucky to have her as a part of our Tiger family!
Spring is always such a busy time for our TMS Tigers. Spring extracurricular activities including: track, baseball, soccer, tennis, and golf, TMS Winter Guard, TMS Language Bowl, TMS Band, TMS Choir are all competing. Additionally, TMS Drama will be hosting the Snow White Variety Show on April 17-18.TMS Robotics had an outstanding 2025–2026 season! Six teams competed across six tournaments; students demonstrated innovation, teamwork, and perseverance throughout the year. Three teams earned spots at the state competition, and one team advanced to the VEX World Championship. TMS Robotics brought home multiple honors, including the Design Award, Teamwork Award, and the prestigious Excellence Award, showing engineering and collaboration excellence.
State testing for our students will take place April 20-23 for all grade levels. Teacher Appreciation Week is May 4-8, and we plan on celebrating our staff in a big way! We will have gifts, food, and activities all week. Also, TMS would like to extend a huge thank you to all of our parents for their time and support for all these events!
Tahlequah Middle School is hosting a Summer Enrichment Program for 5th-8th grade students. The open house will take place on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, from 5:00pm-7:00pm at TMS. Parents and students are encouraged to attend to learn more about the program and meet the staff. The Summer Program will run from Wednesday, May 27, 2026, through Thursday, June 18th, 2026, operating four days a week from Monday to Thursday. Invitations for the program are being sent home this week. We will be focusing on gaining skills through hands-on applications. We will also be applying skills through STEM, Arts, and other educational activities. Other enrichments that will be offered this summer include sports and recreation, arts and crafts, cooking club, fishing, and field trips each Thursday.
The end of the year is approaching fast. We will have awards assemblies in the last week of school for each grade level. We will celebrate our 8th graders on May 13, 2026, with an extended lunch and afternoon activities before they head off to THS. We will host our 5th graders on May 7, 2026 for tours and then host a TMS Parent Night for 5th Grade parents and 5th grade students on May 7, 2026 from 5:30-6:30pm.
