Sequoyah Pre-K is off to an exciting start this school year!
Our staff has been busy building strong, positive connections with students and families. Each morning, staff members greet children at the doors and throughout the building, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. To top it off, the Northeastern State University Women’s Basketball team is back, bringing extra smiles and high-fives each week!
August flew by as teachers focused on building classroom communities, establishing expectations, and nurturing social-emotional growth. Students are learning to play and work together through hands-on classroom centers and plenty of outdoor activities. Teachers have also been working hard to strengthen those important fine motor skills.
In September, families joined us for Popsicles on the Playground and Family Night during our Book Fair. This month, our students are looking forward to a walking field trip to the fire station, where they’ll learn about fire safety and even get to explore a fire truck! We are also super excited about our upcoming trip to Livesay Orchards!
Looking ahead, be sure to mark your calendars for October 30th! We’ll celebrate with our annual Halloween Parade—a favorite tradition where students dress in costumes and parade through the school, collecting candy from friends and families.
If you haven’t driven by Sequoyah Pre-K lately, I encourage you to do so! The grass on our playground looks amazing! We are also incredibly grateful to the community members who have graciously donated new and gently used Little Tikes playhouses. Our students absolutely love them! These playhouses have created so many new opportunities for imaginative play and outdoor learning.
Every day at Sequoyah Pre-K is filled with learning, laughter, and growth. We are so thankful for our students, families, staff, and community who make our school such a special place to learn and grow.
