Heritage Elementary is off to an exciting start for 2026–2027! Our students, staff, families, and community partners are already learning, growing, and building the strong culture that makes Heritage a special place to be.

We kicked off the year with our House Con Family Night on September 17, bringing families together to celebrate our House system and the sense of belonging it creates throughout our school. Students and families enjoyed an evening filled with fun, fellowship, activities, and plenty of House spirit. House Con also gave our House Council candidates an opportunity to campaign and share their ideas and leadership goals with their fellow students. We are proud to announce our 2026–2027 House Council Senators: Cameron Moul, Isibindi; Ryder Pinney, Amistad; Lenee Basson, Alturismo; and Adeline Riet-Kerk, Rêveur. Our House Council Representatives are Blakely Bynum, Lucy Highers, Dylan Richardson, Karson Cooper, Addison Humphrey, Abdiel Torres, Brayden Snell, Rylan Shatwell, Valeria Ortiz, Mia Olvera, Gehrig Ward, and Amelia Crawley. These student leaders will play an important role in representing their Houses, encouraging school spirit, and helping make Heritage an even stronger school community.

On September 24, the House of Rêveur hosted our annual World Dream Day celebration, encouraging students to dream big and begin thinking about their futures. They had the opportunity to explore a variety of careers and hear from community members and special guests who shared their experiences while encouraging them to set goals, work hard, and believe in what is possible. Everyone had a little fun along the way by dressing as their future selves!

Our Third Annual Read-A-Thon was another tremendous success! Our entire school community worked together to promote reading and strengthen a culture of literacy across Heritage. This year, our readers helped raise an incredible $10,000! These funds will provide valuable support for school activities, classroom needs, and resources that directly benefit our students. We are grateful to our families, staff, and community for making this year’s Read-A-Thon such a success!

Our fall Book Fair, held September 21–October 2, was another highlight of the season. With an exciting fall theme featuring Donuts with Grown-Ups, the Book Fair brought plenty of smiles while encouraging our students to discover the joy of reading. Thank you to our families and community for continuing to support literacy at Heritage!

Looking ahead, we have many exciting events on the calendar. Camp Read-A-Lot will be held November 5 and will be an evening dedicated to celebrating reading, learning, and family fun. We hope to see many of our Heritage families there!

Our Bindi-Rismo Canned Food Drive begins November 2, with the Houses of Isibindi and Altruismo joining forces to help support our district food closet. We encourage families to donate non-perishable food items and help us make a difference for others in our community.

Our students are also making their mark in the arts. The Fourth-Grade Concert will be held October 27, giving our fourth graders an opportunity to share their musical talents with family and friends. We are always proud to see our students shine beyond the classroom!

We would like to invite all local veterans to join us on November 10 as we honor and celebrate their service! Our Veterans Day programs will be held at 9:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. We would be honored to have you join us!

At Heritage Elementary, we believe “Work Together, Achieve More!” We are grateful for the continued support of our families and community as we work together to help our children learn, lead, dream, and succeed. It’s going to be another amazing year at Heritage!
